Exciting New Collaboration

Shrinking the Footprint is the Church of England's national environmental campaign aimed at helping the Church's 42 dioceses and 16,000 churches reduce their carbon footprint. The target, as set by General Synod, is a reduction of 80% by 2050.

Parish Buying met last week with our colleagues in the Shrinking the Footprint team and we are delighted to announce the launch of new collaborative project.

We will be developing an Energy Assessment, with a range of associated services and products to help churches reduce their carbon footprint. This new tool is aimed for a summer launch, and will be hosted on the Parish Buying website.

Ruth Knight, the Church’s Environmental Policy Officer, said “We hope this tool will not only highlight the various ways parishes can increase their energy efficiency and reduce costs but will also provide clear direction towards affordable green energy.”
